Long Lucious Locks...

Have always been something that I really want. Long, beautiful hair. It has been my secret wish for forever. Sadly, I was not blessed with hair that was thick and that grew like a weed. My sister, sister-in-laws and pretty much every one of my friends has hair that is super thick or super long and gorgeous...and then there's mine: thin and grows an inch a year. LAME!

So, I have been contemplating for a few weeks now what to do with my Birthday money I received from family and friends (since I cannot go shopping until after I am no longer an elephant) and I realized that this dream could actually be in reach! I decided to get on KSL.com and look and see if I could find an amazing deal on Hair Extensions. And, lucky me, I DID! A girl on there, with 10 years of experience, was advertising that she was holding a special for $180 (almost exactly what I had saved) with the hair included. Ummmm, YES PLEASE! I was a tad skeptical since that really is super cheap compared to all the other prices I have seen, but I called her anyways, talked to her for a while and she sounded really legit (and sent me her portfolio of her work to look at), made an appointment for the next day (yesterday) and Voila!

Check out the Before and After Please:) (also, ignore my nasto pregnancy face)

CRAZY HUH!!! I am SO HAPPY with them! It only took her an hour and she had the hair dyed for me already had them dyed to my exact hair color (at no extra charge) which was so nice. They will last up to a year if I take really good care of them and have to go get them tightened every 3 or 4 months.
It's so weird having long hair because I have NEVER had it long before, it's only ever been a little passed my collar bone. I have to say that I am thinking longer looks better, and Brett absolutely LOVES them so it's an even bigger bonus. My dream has finally come true!! I am in love. It's going to take a while to get used to them but they are great. I don't think I will have short hair again for a long while. Happy late Birthday to me:)

Baby Nursery & Baby's Name!!!

Yay! I must say that I have been longing and waiting to do this post since the day I found out I was pregnant. Nurseries are just so cute and fun!! I had a Blast shopping for it and picking out what I wanted and organizing it and putting it together. It's 99% finished, I just need to hang the Baby's Name (in wooden letters) I made last night on the wall by his crib and then we are good to go! But, since I didn't have the stuff to hang it with today, I decided to post anyways; I am just too excited!!

Okay, here we go! Get ready for a lot of pics people...

BEFORE:
(ps this is after we moved the desk and chair out, but still messy)

DURING:

AFTER:

Well, there you have it! What do you think?!?! It's not super fancy or anything, and we aren't allowed to paint the walls in our town home, but I L.O.V.E. IT! It is just perfect, and exactly what I wanted. I am so proud of Brett and myself for pulling that off in a couple of days. It literally took days. I honestly just go in there and shut the door and rock back and forth and just dream of when the baby will get here, what it will be like, and how amazing it will be.

And this is what is going to go on the bare wall the crib is against (along with a Greg Olsen painting of Christ)....

These are the same letters, just two different angles of it. And now you know what we are naming our baby...Dylan. Dylan Bradley Hancock to be exact. I have loved that name since I was about 7 years old and of course, Bradley is the name of my Dad and we just had to use it. It flows great and both Brett and I loved it and it's just stuck.

I am so proud of these letters too. I am not the craftiest person in the world but I am trying to get there. It's my first try at letters like this and I think I did pretty well. They took me a couple of hours last night, but they are SOOOOO CUTE! I heart them so much, and I hope Dylan will too:)

Can't wait for our little man to get here!!!

All About Baby...

It's time for the annual Baby Updates:) Yay! I love posting about the baby, and if I love it this much now, I can't imagine how much I will love it when he gets here. I haven't done this for over a month and hopefully (crossing my fingers) this will be the last time I get to update you on how the baby is doing inside of me instead of on the outside! I already posted my 37 weeks pic in my last post, so here are the details at 37 Weeks:

-I have not been hungry at ALL these last couple of weeks. I have heard that you get extremely hungry in the last part of your pregnancy, but I have sort of lost my appetite. I had to force myself to drink a Jamba Juice yesterday and I completely forgot to eat dinner. Weird.

-When I am hungry, I crave Jamba Juices or any type of Fruit Smoothies. I cannot get enough of those babies! Also, Apples & Peanut Butter. I did crave a Frazil last week at like 11:30pm so Brett and I went to get one because I could NOT stop thinking about it.

-My feet and ankles are giant pillows of puffiness. Not to mention itchy! My feet itch constantly, and I called the doctor about this and apparently it is a sign (and so is the loss of appetite) of a liver disfunction called Cholestasis that some pregnant women get late in their pregnancy, but it can be serious enough to get induced. I had to rush into the Doc's office yesterday to get my blood drawn and we are getting the results today, so we will see.

-My wedding ring no longer sits on my finger because it is now too fat. It sucks! I haven't been able to wear it for about a week now. But I am actually surprised I was able to have it there for that long.

-I have been in the nesting stage the last week or so. I have been all over getting the house clean, reorganized and polished for the baby to come. I still have lots to do but I am sure I will have no trouble getting it done because I have such a desire to do it! Brett loves it!

-I am still wearing my regular jeans. Most of my regular shirts have accumulated dust because I cannot wear them, but my jeans are still fitting!

-I have learned I cannot be sitting indian style on the floor and bend over to reach something, because that causes a pinched sciatic nerve. I did it twice in two days and I was kicking myself in the butt for it. It was super painful and I had to just lay in bed while it healed both times. Not fun.

-I can still shave and paint my own toenails

-It is getting to be impossible to get comfortable, especially if we are trying to cuddle while watching a movie and it's after we have had dinner. I don't know why, but a full stomach makes it a thousand times worse at getting comfy on the couch.

-Sleeping is still going pretty good. My maternal clock has already started (a little early if you ask me) because every morning, without an alarm, I wake up at 6:45 (wide awake) then have to force myself to fall back asleep. But I cannot sleep past 8. It's absolutely impossible. I can still sleep on my back though, and either side works too.

-Stretch Marks are my absolute worst enemy! I probably shouldn't complain, because I have zero on my stomach (where you think I would get them) but I do have a few on my hips and thighs. Only a few, which I guess I should be grateful for. I'm sure they will, as much as they can, go away after baby comes...They better! Positive thinking:)

-My belly button hasn't popped out yet! I thought for sure it would by now, but it looks like it never will, which is completely fine with me:)

-I am constantly getting my ribs kicked or having baby stretch up against my stomach and all the while him having hiccups like 12 times a day. There is just no room for him in there, poor thing. It's not fun but I can't say I blame him for stretching as much as he does.

-The first thing I do when I wake up is run to the potty, and the last thing I do at night is go potty. I know that sounds like the norm for everyone, but it's way different when you pee for like 2 minutes each time.

-My face is getting puffy. I'm not a fan.

-I just had a checkup at the Doc two days ago and I have gained a total of 27 lbs. Not too shabby eh? I feel that I have done quite well, and it is a big accomplishment for me because I was terrified (like I am sure every other woman is) of gaining a ton of weight. It looks like all that healthy eating paid off:)

-Also at the Doctor's appointment, he checked my cervix to see if I am dilated at all. Let me just tell you, that was the most uncomfortable and painful experience I have had throughout this entire pregnancy. Granted, I haven't had any contractions yet or anything, but WOW~! It was not fun people. And, it doesn't help that I am dilated to an exact Zero. Yep, no change. We go in again next week and, as you can imagine, I am highly looking forward to that same experience again.

-We have been frantically working day and night to get the baby's room (formerly our office) cleared out from the desk that was in there and the chair and couch and junk, to make it a haven for our baby. It's been a looooooooong process but we got er' done!!! I just need to hang up one last craft I did for it last night and then I will take pics and post them either tonight or tomorrow:)

I think that's it. It doesn't really sound like a ton, and most of it is just for me to remember what's been going on so sorry if it's a bore. Also, sorry for the lack of pics. Don't you fret though, next post will be exploding with them!! (Baby Nursery:)

It's crazy to think he could be here any day now; that it's now just a waiting game. I still feel like I have so much time left, it hasn't really hit me yet that any day I could go into labor. I don't know if that terrifies me or if it excites me. Both I guess. I'm so tired of being pregnant (I will explain why) but I don't feel like I am ready to be a mom yet either so it goes both ways. I just don't want to screw the kid up ya know?! I have a lot of fears, but that is my biggest one. But, I must say, praying constantly has helped ease my worries and fears so I think for the most part I am good to go. I don't really have a choice at this point. And Brett has been good to go from the start! He is going to be an AMAZING dad, and he can't wait for baby to get here. I know I will feel the same as soon as I see the little guy, I know I will wonder how I ever lived without him here. I can't imagine that feeling, but I am excited for it.

Update on The Hancocks...

Wow, it's been about 3 weeks since I blogged last! Whoops! Life has been crazy with me not working and all...:) No but seriously, we have been working hard on the following:

-Babies room (that should be the next blog post...hopefully it's done in a day or two)
-Shopping for Baby (FINALLY got it taken care of. There have been FedEx Trucks here everyday for the last week)
-Working hard on deep-cleaning the house
-Moving a bunch of stuff out of our spare room to our storage shed
-Reorganizing our house
-Me pinching my Sciatic Nerve twice in two days which = Bedridden for those days
-Me catching up on all my guilty pleasure shows such as Khloe & Lamar, Real Housewives of Orange County and Teen Mom (yes I'm lame)
-Parenting Classes
-Our 2-Year Anniversary
-and Brett being in Summer school and doing 3 hours of homework a day.

It's been Sooooo nice but very busy. Here is a few pics and updates of what else has been goin' on (since most blog posts are super boring without pics):

We spent a full day at Hogle Zoo (yeah doing that at 37 weeks is not the smartest idea, but definitely worth the fun) with our best friends up here, Dan and Steph. I don't have any pics of the 4 of us (they are on Dan's camera) but it was a good day. We did that, then decided to make a day in Salt Lake and went to the Planetarium @ The Gateway, shopped a little, got soaked from the rain, rode Trax over to see The Joseph Smith movie and then finished the night off at Simply Sushi. Yep, good day with good friends:) My feet were ready to fall off at the end but it was a blast!

Here is the 37 Weeks shot...a little scary to think this could be my last shot being pregnant (well, actually, when I think of it that way it sounds amazing) but I am so looking forward to having our little man here! I am so done being pregnant!! I love the kicks and the movements, but that is about the only benefit at this point. As you can tell, my feet and ankles have lost their entire shape (I look like I have grandma legs), I cannot get comfortable especially after I have eaten something, I have pinched my sciatic nerve TWICE (the worst pain E.V.E.R.) and the list could go on and on. Yep, having my normal body back is sounding pretty good right about now.

We celebrated our 2 YEAR Anniversary this last week (May 19th, and please don't look too hard at my pregnancy face, I hate it)!!! I cannot believe it's been two years! It feels like it's been two months (seriously!) We celebrated by Brett giving me flowers (if you couldn't tell), letters to each other, Texas Roadhouse and a good ol' stay-at-home move night. It was fabulous, especially since all of our $$ is going to baby. I thought about doing a blog post about how much I love Brett and all that cheesy stuff, but I am pretty sure you guys know that, and I wrote it to him in his letter I gave him so I just figured I would leave it at this: I love you Brett! Thanks for the best two years of my life! I can't wait for eternity:)

Last week Brett decided he hated how our front yard looked. The lady who lived here before us planted these nasty bushes that were not only ugly, but dead as doornails and were just sitting there rotting away. So Brett decided to make a flower garden, while I encouraged and supported him from my chair because bending over at all at this point is not only painful, but impossible. That's him with his ending result. He is so proud of this little garden, and I am too! He did a great job and it looks amazing out there now! Good job babe!

And last but not least, Bentley got his little parts chopped, hence the cone. He has been a trooper though. He mostly just lays around and wants you to hold him while he sleeps. He looks so stinkin' cute with his cone though, we have probably taken 20 pics of him with it on. He's not loving it so much though.

Well I think that's it for now. Things are moving right along in our neck of the woods, and we are on the last end of getting things ready for this baby to come. It is a HUGE relief to have all the baby stuff here though, that was a little stressful for a bit.
I must say I haven't missed work one little bit. I don't even know why I thought I would besides for the social aspect. I have been socializing plenty with our friends and family, and it's been so nice being home and accomplishing things around here that have needed to be done for a while, and not to mention Brett is here all the time so it's great.

I have a Doctor's appt. tomorrow so the doc can check my cervix to see how much I am dialated, if at all (yeah...this should be interesting). So we will know if I am even remotely close to going in anytime soon. Ahhhhh!! I'll be sure to let you know how that goes.....Toodles!

4 More Days...

In 4 days we are going to be enjoying a work-free SUMMER!!!!! Brett's last day of work is later this week, and my last day of work is next Tuesday and I must say, it's a bitter-sweet thing. I am so sick of the work that I do, but I heart the girls that I work with so so much! We have already made pacts to have lunch dates, dinner dates, shopping trips, Bachelorette Monday nights and hanging out, but I am still sad that I won't see them every day. It's just so nice to have that girl time everyday and I will miss it tremendously.

But...on the other hand, I will have nothing to do all day for the next 4 weeks then to get ready for our little guy to get here! There is so much to do I cannot even believe it. We will be super busy, but I can't wait to spend all my free time with my best friend. It's going to be so nice waking up when I want, wearing sweats because jeans and work pants are so uncomfortable now, and doing all the things we have planned. Some of those things are:

  • Buying EVERYTHING we need for Baby and setting it all up in our second bedroom (aka Nursery)
  • Deep cleaning our house to get it Baby-ready
  • Redoing our bedroom set (I want to repaint the bed and the dresser Black, it will look so much better)
  • Clean out my closet/reorganize our room
  • Doing crafts I have been putting off because of work
  • Going to the Temple a couple of times a week
  • Playing with our friends
  • Going on lots of Summer Walks and Picnics
  • Going to parenting classes
  • Read lots of parenting books
  • Doctor's appointments once a week
  • Getting Massages
  • Hanging out and have fun doing nothing
  • Play with the Baby when he comes (and try not to go nuts in the process:)
  • Brett will have class a couple of hours in the day and homework, but other than that it will be family time and play time (and recovery time for me)
  • Workout and get the baby-weight off
  • Tanning
  • Enjoying Summer:) I have missed it so.

See, I will be so busy I probably won't even miss work. It's going to be great:) Summer is going to be AMAZING! I am so grateful Brett and I are so blessed to be able to both be home with the Baby this entire summer (except for when he goes to class). We are enormously blessed and we know it and thank Heavenly Father everyday that he is giving us both the time we will both need to get used to being parents, without the stress of working. I just cannot wait:) His due date is in 5 weeks, and with every passing week my hands and feet get bigger and bigger, and my back gets worse and worse. But it makes it all worth it when we hear his heartbeat at the Doctor's office, or when he kicks me (which is every few minutes) or when Brett talks to him at night. I love him SO much already, I can't imagine loving him more but I know that when we see this little guy, the love we will have for him will be so much more than we ever thought we could feel.

I.Cant.Wait.

33 Weeks and Maternity Pics

I am 33 Weeks Today. I am Eight Months Pregnant today. The baby could come (but will hopefully keep cooking to the end) in one month from today. However you want to put it I am getting really close to being dunzo with having baby in my tummy and having him out in my arms... OH. MY. GOSH!!!!

So, in celebration of being 8 months pregnant, Brett and I decided we needed some maternity pictures to remember our first baby's pregnancy by. So we set off to a pretty park up here in Logan and had ourselves our first photo shoot of the year. It was so nice outside and it was fun to have Brett telling me what to do as he snapped away. He is such a good sport, I sure do love that boy:) Below are some of our favorites...beware...picture overload

33 Week Update:

-I am having the worst backaches I have ever had in my life. And not only do I have them, but no matter how much I rub the certain spot that is constantly aching, it will NOT stop! Even massages don't do the trick (both Brett and professionals) Annoying? That is an understatement...more like terribly unbearable. The only relief I get is at night when I sleep.

-My wedding ring no longer is allowed on my finger during the night, because if it is, I wake up and cannot get it off for a couple of hours. That is how swollen I am getting. My hands and feet are slowly turning into marhmallows, and I've already said goodbye to my calves and ankles.

-At night, my hands and feet get incredibly sore and achy. Not sure why this is?

-Getting into the car is starting to get a tad difficult. I have to hold my breath while getting in the car because if I don't, my stomach blocks my lungs from getting air while I am maneuvering in.

-Not craving hardly anything anymore, except for Apples and Diet Soda.

-We went and had an ultrasound last Monday and our baby is 5lbs and is growing like a weed. The doc says that if he stays in his little nest for full term, we will be having an 8.5lb baby! Thinking about that much weight coming out of me is enough to make me want to keep him in there forever. And the little bugger wouldn't turn around to let us see his face. All we saw was the back of his head and his little feet above his head. Still cute but I was mad at him for a minute.

-I am still wearing my regular jeans, I haven't even touched a pair of maternity pants (besides my work pants, which are basically sweats that look like slacks)...yep...pretty crazy. I don't know how I am doing it, especially when I look at the pics above and seeing how far out my tummy is now, but, I am.

-We have made our first baby purchase, which is the amazing diaper bag in the post below:) Other than that, nada.

-I am usually able to stay up until midnight these days...very nice

-I can still shave my own legs and paint my own toes....barely

-The baby is constantly making himself known by pushing against me at any chance he gets. I love seeing my tummy have random pokes coming from the inside. I am already sad that it's going to be ending here in a while.

-I am gaining the correct amount of weight, according to my doctor. He says if I go to full term, I will have gained between 28-30lbs.

-I am still a camel and drinking water all through the night

-The baby loves to push on my bladder at the worst times, and it's usually while I am at work.

-I have 2 1/2 weeks left of working, then it's time to get ready for the baby to be here:)

-Brett and I love to sit and carefully feel around my belly and feel the baby. It's way easy to feel where he's at and it's so fun. When we feel him we push a little and he squirms or he pushes back against us. He's probably sick of us.

-Brett will talk to our baby every day after I get home from work. Our routine is I come and lay on the bed and Brett lays his head on my stomach and talks to baby about what we did that day and how much we love him and can't wait to play with him. It's so fun:)

Baby, we love you! We cannot believe we are going to be seeing you in a month or so! Stay in there as long as possible so you grow strong!! Know that we love feeling you and seeing you move around and we already love you SO much and pray for you every day!! Today Daddy and I were at Walmart and we couldn't help but stop by the baby section and see all the cute little outfits and booties that we will get to dress you in. We can't wait to meet you baby:)
Love, Mommy

My Dream Diaper Bag...

I have been on the hunt the last month or so for a diaper bag that doesn't look like a diaper bag, but more like a cute over-sized purse but that would still function and work as a diaper bag, and maybe even be a diaper bag but not look like it.
Well, after hours and hours of searching all over the place online (literally) I found my dream diaper bag that I have been dreaming of. Take a peek...

Isn't it so cute?! I have one word: L.O.V.E. I really wanted this bag, I was set on it, but I decided to keep looking because apparently it's a 'designer diaper bag', (Timi & Leslie) and it was well above $100 everywhere I looked and there was no way I was going to spend anything close to that.
Well, it must have been my lucky day yesterday because, on a whim, I decided to look on KSL classifieds and my exact bag I wanted was listed for 1/3 of the price I saw it going for everywhere else!!! Of course I was all over it! I immediately sent a text to the girl who listed it and asked about it. Turns out she had only used it a few times and it was in "just like new" condition and it included the clutch. I was jumping up and down! She lives in Idaho Falls so I immediately payed for it over Paypal and it's on its way to me as of noon today and it should be in my arms by next Tuesday. I cannot WAIT! I love finding good deals, especially when it's something I feel like is so out of reach:) Now I can be a stylin' mama at a 1/3 of what those other suckers pay full price for haha!

Birthday Fun...

This Birthday was my best birthday yet. Brett is always so good at making this day amazing, and, yet again, he didn't disappoint:)

To be honest, I wasn't expecting too much this birthday because poor Brett has been SUPER sick with an awful viral cold, just coughing every few minutes, sniffling and blowing his nose every other minute, having bad sinus headaches and just feeling horrible. I feel so sad for him. So I was planning on it being just a pretty much ordinary day, except me not going to work and just chilling here (which would be fine with me). Well, Brett made sure that didn't happen:) I woke up and took a nice bath to let Brett sleep as long as possible. When I was done and went downstairs he was cooking up a storm! What a sweet boy:) He made me an amazing breakfast. Then we went and chilled for a bit then Brett had class so he went and I stayed and hung out and watched some TV and had some sweet relaxation time. It was soooooo nice! Then Brett got home and walked in the door with these...

What a sweetheart right?! I was surprised again! He had told me the day before that my present was on it's way in the mail and wasn't here yet...sneaky boy:)

So after he came home we decided to go on a picnic since it was super nice and sunny outside. We loaded up the pups, went and got some yummy sandwiches and cute cupcakes for dessert, and off we went. Well, right as we got all our stuff set up on the grass and had the dogs leashed and tied to a steak, these guys pulled up, literally 30 seconds after we sat down...

Yeah, talk about awesome...Not! And not only did one show up, but two of them, in two separate trucks. You would think our dogs were attacking people or something (there was nobody else at the park at the time). So they show up and give us a bunch of bull-crap on how having dogs in parks in Logan is illegal (I don't know where these guys have been, but we have lived here for 2 years and, as you would know if you have read my blog during summertime, we have taken our dogs to the park like every other day during those two summers and nobody has ever said a peep). But the annoying thing was, they gave us a "ticket" (if you can call it that) for not having our dogs "licensed" with the City of Logan. What a joke! And the icing on the cake (no pun intended) was that this whole lecture and ticketing process took this lady about 45 minutes. Can you say annoying?! So, by the time we got out of there it was like 3:45, our sandwiches were soggy, our drinks were flat, the cupcakes were melting, the dogs were super anxious and it was starting to get a little chilly. Needless to say I was not very happy with the stupid Animal Control. Thanks guys for wishing me a happy 23 with a Ticket, when you could actually be doing some good and saving some animals from abusive owners or whatever you guys do! You guys suck.

So, we ended up just going home because it got pretty chilly, had our picnic in the house and had a good time laughing about what had just happened. Then, it was time to blow out my cake and open my present...

Thank you Temptation Cupcake:)

Brett got me the sweetest and most needed gift of my life right now.... a Gift Certificate for 3 spa treatments at one of the nicest spa's in Logan. I was super surprised!!! What a cutie, now my back can get some much needed relief and my nails can get perdy. Thanks babe.

After presents we decided to go to Walmart to register for Baby Hancock:) That was sooooo much fun! It was fun seeing what types of things we want and all the cute little outfits.

We then took a trip over to Best Buy where Brett said he had another present for me, if I wanted it. I've had my laptop for 3 years and it's going to bust literally any day now...it shuts itself off, the battery cannot last without being plugged in, the keys are falling off the keyboard, it freezes all the time, it has a virus....yeah it's basically shot. So this is what he led me to once we walked in the store...

It was a cute little hp Netbook, that was PINK! Ummm Love! I was super shocked, I didn't even know what to say! I was so happy!!! I didn't know he was saving money out of our paychecks for birthdays, but he was! Sneaky sneaky! He said it was on sale for an amazing price, and it would probably be the last time we could afford one for a while considering the baby and him finishing two more semesters of school and me not working (at least I won't be for a bit). So, I slept on it and Saturday we went and picked it up. I sure do love it:) Thanks babe!!!!

Brett had one more surprise in store for me. There is this restaurant in Logan called Elements. It was built about a year ago and it's gorgeous on the outside and I have wanted to eat there ever since it opened...but it's SUPER nice and pretty pricey so we never have. Every time we drive passed it I just stare at it and wish. Well, we headed off to dinner and we pulled up to this:

Where we ate this...

and this...

and left like this...

The food was amazing and the service was great! It was just as beautiful as I had imagined. They gave me a free dessert (rich chocolate cake, which is not my favorite but it was free so I wasn't complaining) and Brett really enjoyed it. It really was such an amazing day. We went home and cuddled up and watched a couple of movies and turned in. I really could not have asked for a better birthday. I have never had so many surprises before! It was great:)

Brett, thank you so much for really making my Birthday the greatest day ever! You always treat me like a princess, but especially on my birthday you go over the top:) You spoiled me way too much and feel so blessed to have you for eternity. You are so amazing and I have no idea how I am going to top that when yours comes around...maybe, just maybe, you can get your firearm you have been looking at constantly for months now:)
