The Office Marathon: Take 4

Our point of view

The TV's point of view

Brett and I love the TV show The Office. We absolutely love it. Okay, we are obsessed with it. So much so, that we have watched Seasons 1-5, 3 times. In a row. And now, we just started our 4th marathon. Are we crazy? I think we are. Crazy about The Office that is:) It is our nightly ritual to turn on The Office for an hour while I do my internet surfing/play games or read and while Brett pulls out his Xbox and plays his games. And Daisy either lays on her pillow and chills, cuddles on my lap, or she brings us her rope and we throw it for her to fetch while we do our thing. It's turned into a routine that we are quite fond of. We HAVE to do this before bedtime. If we don't, it's weird. I am sure this won't last forever, but while it does it is a blast. We practically have every episode memorized and we still laugh super hard at every little thing Dwight does. I don't know how we aren't sick of it yet but until then, bring on The Nard-Dog and Michael Scott's continuous quotes of "That's What She Said!"Daisy Mae Pup chillin on her pillow
This is the look I get from Brett when he has a lot of kills on Modern Warfare 2 (it's sad that I know anything about that game)

I cannot believe that I graduated High School 4 years ago! Seriously, it honestly feels like yesterday I was there and just counting down the days until it was done. Life has had so many interesting tweeks and turns and twisted me into a totally different direction than I had originally planned for myself. All good things, just different than I thought it would be. I had no idea that I would be in Logan, this is the last place I ever saw myself because I HATE the cold. Snow is my worst enemy and here I am, in the coldest part of Utah that loves to have snow 10 months out of the year. I am married to my sweetheart, a better man than I could ever have asked for and who I do not deserve. And all of you know that I didn't plan on marrying anyone but my high school sweetheart. Life doesn't always turn out the way you plan, and I am so grateful it doesn't. I cannot imagine anyone more perfect for me than Brett. He fits me like a glove. It was the best decision I ever made. And I have been married a year!! Insane! The funnest year of my life! And we have a dog Daisy!!! I have wanted a dog since I was 3 and I finally have one! And it is so much more fun than I could have imagined. I have learned so much about myself in the last 4 years and grown into an actual adult, not just being 18 and being a 'legal' adult. I know more of who I am, the things I want to accomplish and the things I want out of life. I am still not done with school. I thought I would be by now, but I am a year or 2 away so that's not too shabby. I am starting to lean in the direction of thinking of becoming an elementary teacher, and for those of you who know me, that was definitely NOT in the cards for me even a year ago, let alone in High School. I have just started feeling really good about it. But we will see. It's not official, just an idea. I am still friends with quite a few people from High School, more than I thought I would be just because people all go their different directions. But let's be honest; with Facebook, it's kind of hard not to be friends with people from High School. Everyone is getting married or is already married. It's insane that we have come this far! It literally feels like yesterday that I was walking those Bingham Hallways and sluffing classes and going to school dances and football games. Life seemed so easy then, the only worries I had were: going to my lame part-time job and B-Sing homework. Those were the days.. I feel so old! But Life has gone on and just keeps getting better and more exciting. So here's to the class of 06' It's a great day to be a Miner:) Oh, and I felt the need to include a few goodies from the good old days....

A Fabulous Break,...

Memorial Day Weekend could not have come any slower. It seems like forever since I have had a break from work to just chill. I cannot explain how nice it has been to have a 3 day weekend! It was also nice to get a break from driving down to Salt Lake, we have done that the last 4 weekends in a row and that drive gets so old. We love our family and friends so much, but it was good to stay put and be at home. It was definitely needed, considering that I haven't had a break from my stressful workplace since New Year's! It has been heavenly:) We had plenty of time to play, relax, sleep, be outdoors (when it wasn't too cold) and just chill.
Thursday night we decided to stay up until 4:30 am playing our Wii and watching "The Office." It was so fun staying up so late. We haven't done that in a while but have been doing that a lot lately. It's been so fun! But it definitely took it's toll since we ended up rolling out of bed Friday morning at 10:30am. It looked like it was going to be a nice day so we decided to go grab some Old Grist Mill (the best sandwich place on the planet) and head over to the park. Oh, but wait, as true Utah weather does, clouds rolled in within 10 minutes of us driving to get our food, and it started pouring and the temperature dropped like 15 degrees. So we decided to improvise and do a picnic on our hardwood living room floor and watch more of "The Office." It was a good time. Oh and later that night we also decided to stay up until 3 doing the same thing we did the night before. Fun Fun Fun:)
Picnic in the house. No couch necessary.

Saturday we got out of bed at 10 (which felt so weird to me because normally I cannot sleep in to save my life) and we wanted to play outside but of course it was freezing and miserable outside. So we cleaned our house and had more staying in, eating junk food, lounging around watching movies. Then that night, we decided to go out!

We have been on a Sushi kick lately so we went to a cute little sushi place in town then we went and got Fried Ice Cream at Cafe Sabore because I was craving it immensely! If you haven't tried it before, try it! You will wonder how you ever lived without it! SO YUMMY! Then we came home and all the lack-of-sleep caught up to us and we fell asleep trying to stay awake at about 10pm.

Sunday we headed to church, Brett played Xbox all day while I worked on our blog and surfed the net and watched The Office. We then decided, since it was a beautiful day and the sun was showing it's face for the first time in what has felt like years, to go to the temple to take some fun pics and then go on a picnic. They have gorgeous temple grounds at the Logan Temple and they just finished the Fountain they spent forever putting in so we got some good shots with that.

Our picnic was fun too, just chillaxin, listening to books and reading mags and basking in the sun.

Then came midnight, and we were hungry, so off to the only place in Logan that is open that late...Burger King! Yum. Then headed to bed around 1ish.
Today has been quite the trip. We decided to go fishing late last night so we were out of the house by 9:30am (only an hour later than our goal) and we set out to go up to Tony Grove Lake (about 40 minutes up Logan Canyon.) And while we expected to get up there and find green grass, a sereen lake with kids and dogs around and a fun picnic spot to spend our Holiday Day at, we found this:
Ewww! SNOW! My worst enemy! That was the last sight we wanted to see! So, since there were snowmobilers all around us, we turned back around with all our fishing gear, treats and drinks, and headed back home. But we made a pit stop at a Rick Springs (a natural spring that comes up out of the earth, it was neat) and then we found a fishing pond that was packed but decided to try it. So we found a great parking spot and set up our stuff in a nice secluded area.

We had been there for about an hour, enjoying ourselves, when the wind picked up and it got really cold and the clouds started heading in. Typical Utah weather I tell ya...it ruins everything. So we headed back home and now here we are again, just relaxin. I am hoping that I will be able to start doing some crafts that I have been craving to do the last couple of days before the beak is up. It's been a great weekend filled with unexpected weather, outdoor photo shoots and picnics, food, lots of The Office (we practically have it all memorized by now but we love it so much we just can't stop) and lots of Xbox for Brett and Blogging and surfing for me. It's been so great to have no worries about work. Too bad all good things come to an end and tomorrow it's back to reality. But it has been fabulous and I cannot wait for the next break...oh! And it's a 4-day week this week too so that's something to look forward too:) We hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend as well and everyone was safe and happy!

Count Your Many Blessings.....

Over the last week or so I have had a hard time not thinking about my life and what a blessed life I lead! I truly cannot believe how much Heavenly Father has given me. I don't know what I did to have all that I do. It amazes me every day that I wake up next to the most amazing Husband, who I really can say is the guiding light in my life and who is my Best Friend. He loves me despite all my flaws and constantly is teaching me and helping me grow and become a better person and help my weaknesses become strengths. He is so perfect for me in every way that it is kind of scary sometimes. He really does fill in all the spots that I lack in ability or strength. I can truly say that I do not deserve him, I think I just got super lucky. We celebrated our *1st anniversary* last Wednesday (May 19th Woo Woo) and it was incredible to think we have been married a year already. On one hand it feels like we have been married for 1 month but then on the other hand I can't remember life without Brett in it. It's a crazy feeling but I love it. We have so much fun together and although the first year of marriage definitely had it's hard moments, it has been a blast and everyday it honestly just keeps getting better!! I love it!! I am so excited to spend eternity with my sweetheart! What's not to love about this guy!!
I have also been blessed with an amazing Family. I love how much fun we always have together and how close we are. I love the memories we all have shared together and all the good times we have. I am so grateful we are all so dedicated to spending as much time together as we can and that we are all not only family members, but great friends! It's amazing!I could go on and on and about how blessed I feel to live where I do, to have the job that I do (even though my boss is the biggest jerk you'll ever meet) and all the little tender mercies that happen everyday that remind me that God loves me and is aware of me and my feelings and daily activities, but that would probably take up a huge amount of my page and I don't have the time right now to go into all those in depth. I have just really been feeling so blessed and have enjoyed reflecting on all those little things that make life good and that help us to remember that it's the hugs and kisses and love that makes life sweet, not the material things. Counting my blessings has really made me see how amazing and happy my life is. I don't ever remember being this happy. I am in such a good place right now and it feels wonderful. I love this feeling! And I know trials are going to come along and then that feeling might dim, but they will make me stronger and in turn I will add those trials to my list of things I am grateful for; because every trial in my life has led me to feel this happy. Life is good! And ps, I am sorry if this post was boring, this has just been on my mind so much this week that I needed to write it down. And if you are going through a tough time right now or need a pick me up, smile and count your blessings! Honestly, it really helps you see all the things in life you can be happy about:)

Happy Birthday Brett!!!!

Brett is now officially the big 2-7!!!! He is so old!! Holy crap!!! He never reads this so I can say that;) But seriously, it's crazy to think that he is 5 years older than me because it has never felt like a big age difference. I just love him so much even if he is a grandpa:) So, I started the morning off making him a surprise breakfast in bed consisting of Bacon & Egg Burritos, a Toaster Strudel (our fave) and juice. It was so fun to do! Especially since after I surprised him with it at 8:00 this morning he told me he has NEVER had breakfast in bed! I was shocked, and I don't know if a lot of people haven't had that, but growing up that was a birthday tradition in our house! So I am making it a tradition in our house now because that is just sad! So then we spent the morning watching The Office Seasons 2-3 (I had the morning off luckily) because Brett needed to work and, since he works at home, we got to chill. So nice! And while watching and having Brett's eyes glued to his computer screen working, I secretly bought Iron Man 2 tickets for tonight since Brett is obsessed! So excited. Then we headed to Quizno's for lunch, then I went to work and while there I wrapped presents, wrote Brett's Birthday card, and printed the tickets. I then got home Brett opened his presents and he LOVED his new Xbox game, clothes and tickets!! YAY! Then we went over to my old stomping grounds, Pier 49 Pizza for dinner! YUM! That place is amazing but super expensive. But so worth it on a Birthday:) Then we went and saw the long-awaited IRON MAN 2! Honestly, it wasn't as good as it should've been:( I was actually really disappointed with it. The first one was better!! Then we came home, let Daisy come and sing to Brett and blew out his candles. I think it was an overall good day:) Brett, I love you! Thank you so much for being amazing and for being me eternal companion and best friend! I would be nothing without you and am so grateful for all you do! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE! Pics below for you to enjoy:) Oh, and ps, I also went back to blonde a week ago. I missed it so much! It sounds weird missing a hair color but I really did. It feels good:)The theatre was completely empty! We got there like 20 min. early expecting it to be packed.

Gospel Doctrine....

Brett and I have been married a year this month (Yahoo!) and we have been in two wards. Our first ward was kind of a bummer. We never had callings because we were down in Salt Lake City a lot of the time doing family things and we were never involved. So when we moved to this ward a couple of months ago we really wanted and prayed to be more involved, get callings, make lots of good friends and make sure we were making a difference. I think our prayers might have gone a little far because we got called to be Gospel Doctrine Teachers. Together. We are going to be team-teaching. I so excited but nervous at the same time. I kept telling Brett that I really wanted a teaching calling, but I was hoping for more of the Family and Marriage class. Gospel Doctrine was last on my list. But, I know the Lord knows what is best and I am sure that, though this is going to be a challenge, it's going to be amazing and help us become closer to the Lord as well as to each other. It's going to be a great experience and, though I am nervous, I am sure we will love this calling!!!

The Updates...

Ok. I really don't know why or how I am so horrible at this. I go and look at people's blogs all the time, thinking how adorable they are and how I want to be as creative and cute as all the other bloggers, but for some reason I just really stink at updating my own. THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE! IT HAS TO CHANGE! I will shoot for at least once a month so I can actually reach my goal because I obviously cannot even get close to once a week. Hopefully that goal will change once I reach it and I can get down to once a week. But until then, this is what has been going down:

  • I got a new job ( I am sure most of you all knew that but just in case you didn't) I work at a Chiropractic office in Providence and I love it! My boss is a little quarky but who isn't sometimes;) Brett and I get free adjustments so that is a big plus considering Brett has the worst back in the history of mankind so it is very beneficial for us. It's full-time, close and fun people.

  • Brett is almost done with this semester and is praying twice daily that he will pass stats! I am praying too (NOT) because the faster he gets done with school the faster I get to go back....just kidding I really do want him to finish so he can get out of his personal Hell he calls school

  • We got a sweet little Pup Daisy (Brett surprised me with her for Christmas) and she is a doll. A little slow (okay SUPER SLOW) at learning the potty training stuff but she is getting there. She is super hyper and super cuddly. Two of my faves:)

  • WE MOVED!!!! That is probably the biggest update of all. We are finally out of our ghetto apartment and into a Townhouse! It is amazing I tell ya! I didn't realize how much I took parking right outside my house for granted until we lived up above a bookstore. That was horrible. So it's nice to walk outside and have our car right there...not to mention a washer and dryer (stacked) and a dishwasher. It's HEAVEN! And we got a new couch. My mom got it for us as a belated wedding gift! AMAZING! That is all I can say. Pics to come once everything is in it's place on the walls.

  • Both Brett's and my Grandpa passed away two months of each other. Kind of strange but what can you do. Grandpa Moore was ready and so was Grandpa Hancock and that is all that matters. We love them both and will miss them dearly.

  • I am now 22! I feel so old. I know I can't say that considering that Brett is 5 years older than me but I still feel old. I feel like a little kid playing house. Seriously. And I like it that way. But it's crazy to still feel like a kid when your age keeps getting bigger. Okay anywho... It was an amazing birthday! My birthday is my favorite holiday and Brett didn't disappoint. He is so thoughtful and creative. He got me some clothes and a digital photo frame (loved that gift!) and a custom-made decorative sign for the house (adorable) and decorated the house and took me out for a night of fun. It was great to spend it with my love.

  • SUMMER IS HERE~! I cannot say how happy I am about this! I have been waiting and waiting and waiting and it has finally come. Brett and I have been taking advantage of the warm weather and have gone to park after park on picnics this last week. We have missed our 3-picnic-a-week ritual from last summer and we are glad to start it up again.

Well I think I covered the Big Updates. If I think of anymore I will post them on my next post but that should be good. I am going to keep my promise and try to do this once a week at least. For real this time. No more being lazy! Until next week:)

Memoirs of Summer.....

I am finally getting around to writing again. I might as well have "slacker/lazy/have too much Facebook surfing to do rather than update my blog" written on my forehead. Sorry peeps. I promise to you all I am going to spend less time surfing and more time blogging because I know you are all so into reading about our life:) My sister-in-law Brittany vowed to Blog once a week, and I am going to do the same (or at least try my absolute hardest to keep that promise) so here I go:)

Quite a bit has happened since my last post. We have been going down to visit the fam a lot the last couple of months because of fun vacations with our families, as well as to just play and hang out and go to Brad Paisley and see our friends. It's been so fun...Summertime is the best! Here are some pics to show you the fun we had.....

Family Vacation in Park City with my family....this Jet Ski went 60mph. We tested it's speed multiple times:)

Brett giving Thumpie a kiss on one of our MANY picnics this summer! Picnics are amazing when you are with your fam and a cute pet bunny who keeps you entertained by running from tree to tree. So adorable.Family photo updated since last time.....he has gotten so big since the last time we took a family pic like this. You can't really tell from the pic but he is growing.

Brad Paisley Concert!!!! SO AMAZING!!!! He is one of our favorites so it was fun to dance and sing along to some of our favorite love songs:)

We were so sad to see Summer come to an end:( School started and Brett and I are not so into it. I am still working a lot and doing some online classes. Brett has a full load and working. It's a packed schedule but we manage:)To celebrate the last day of "warmth" Brett and I wanted to take Thumper and go on a "last-hoorah" picnic (picnics are a weekly tradition in our household) but when we went to go it was so darn windy we couldn't:( Sad day! So we turned it around and had a picnic inside, right on our living room floor. We set the blanket out and everything. And it helped that our Netflix delivered to us our Full House Season 6 disc as well as our Office Season 5 disc we have been anticipating. So we took some fun pics, ate some Old Grist Mill (the BEST sandwich place ever..cheap too:) and watched Full House and The Office. It was so much fun!!!!!! Here are a couple from the picnic...

Oh yeah...I got bangs. I cut them a week ago because I wanted a change. Not too bad eh?? :)Well, there is my update. I can't wait to blog about General Conference this coming weekend! We absolutely LOVE General Conference!!!! Spending time with the Fam and listening to our amazing Prophet and the Apostles...Amazing! Can't wait! Hope you all enjoyed:) Until next week...

ThE NEwlEyWedS!!!

So, I am totally admitting I have been the Biggest slacker on our Blog. Sorry peeps, that is what comes when you are newly married and have better things to do;) So, now that I have some free time, here is the latest.

Well, we got married! As if you guys didn't know that. But it was definitely the best day of our lives! It just flew by way too fast!!

And the Honeymoon in Orlando was the best getaway ever!

It was wedded bliss from the beginning. Now, we are living up in Logan in a 600 sq ft apartment and absolutely LOVING it
!!!! I was working at Convergys for a while, and Brett is working at iboats still. I hated Convergys from the moment I started so the hunt was on for a new job. Now I am the newest memeber of the Pier 49 Pizza family. Trust me, this job sounds like a pot of gold compared to the crap hole Convergys was. I am in heaven. I start on Saturday. I am so excited. The hours are better, Sundays off, and a fun crew to work with and an amazing boss. I have forgotten what is was like to actually like work. So I am pleased and cannot wait to begin. Life is great, we love being married and love everything life has brought us so far and have never been happier!!!

Here are some shots of the apartment we love to call home....

And now....the newest member of our family. Everyone, we would like to introduce you to our
little baby bunny.......
Thumper!!!!!!

Isn't he adorable?!

He loves lounging around in his cage and chillin. Also loves hoppin around the kitchen to play and lay by the cupboards. We decided to get him because both wanted a pet. And since our Landlord doesn't even allow fish, we figured we could hide a bunny quite well. And we have done a great job so far. He is quiet and loves to hop around when we take him out. He is also a cuddler which I love. He is only 9 weeks old so he is fun to play with. We love him so much and are so glad we got him.

And last but not least....the Newest family portait of The Hancock Family:

Well, that is all for now. We are so grateful to be married and to have our little baby bunny to live with us. Life honestly could not be better!!!!!!We hope all you guys are doin great and hope you guys have a fun holiday!
