It's been a while...

So, I kinda just noticed it's been almost a month since I last blogged. Truth be told there hasn't been much going on to blog about. Everything is the same with us...fabulous:) We are loving having Bentley as our little baby and Daisy is obsessed with him. He is such a great dog! We couldn't have asked for a more obedient or calm pup.

Brett is hating his personal hell in school. Poor guy. He is either working or doing homework, no time for play or cuddle time:( But he is amazing, and the sooner the semester is over the happier he gets and as long as he's happy I am happy.

I am still loving my job. I have had a big desire not to work and just do nothing the last couple of weeks but I have stuck it out and gone to work each day and each day it just keeps getting better. I cannot believe how blessed I am to have such great coworkers and an amazing boss. It's great! Also, I have been making more friends up here in my ward and it's been GREAT! I went Visiting Teaching last night to my girls with my partner and I was gone for 3 hours, and I had just met all 3 of the girls. It was so fun! We just talked and talked and talked. It was nice to have girl time, I don't feel like I get much of that up here. And Brett and I have been more outgoing and doing more things with friends and making new ones each week. The married social life has definitely taken a turn for the fabulous:)

We are super excited for Halloween this weekend. We are going down to SLC to spend it with my fam! We are doing a sweet Partay that will include treats, mom's home cooking, Alfred Hitchcock, Carmeled Apples, laughs and giggles and hanging out with the best family in the world! It's going to be awesome!

I must say that I am HATING Logan weather right now, although it was nice to see the sun today for the first time in like a week. But let's be honest...yesterday...IT SNOWED! I HATE SNOW!!! Why oh why must we live in this blasted desert that can never decide what type of weather it wants to be! I just want to live in Arizona where it's always BLAZING! I am so not liking my dry skin, static in my hair and breaking out thanks to the cold chilly air. Winter, you absolutely suck!

OH! Something that is new is this little treat that we are proud to call ours:

We finally got new phones. Brett has been so good about letting me get on KSL every once in while and getting a used Blackberry, but we were both ready for our Christmas presents early and got this little puppy. It's called the Samsung Vibrant, and OH MY GOSH! We are obsessed with our phones! We have never had internet in our plan and we switched for only $30 more a month. Great deal! And the phones were a rocking deal, especially for only coming out just this summer. Buy one get one free! AMAZING! I never knew what I was missing out on until we got these! I have found so many apps that I am obsessed with, especially this one that is a food log and I enter what I eat and it has the calories and it counts them so I know how much I am consuming each day. It's been so great so far and we are loving them!

So, all in all, life really is going great. I can't complain. Our little family is so blessed and especially with Thanksgiving coming up I have really been focusing on how much we have been given. I have more than I could ever ask for and I am just so thankful! I love this time of year, even though I hate the weather that comes along with it. But, on the upside, it just gives me more reasons to snuggle up in bed longer with Brett (not like I need anything;) So, bring on the Snow, the family parties and the yummy food!!

Fall Changes & Updates...

Ok, so I am going to take a tad of a break from the 30 days of randomness and update everyone on the happenings of The Hancocks. I feel like there is just so much that has been going on that I just have to share it!!

First, with much sadness, tears and heartache we sold our sweet Bouncer. This was the hardest decision ever. We didn't want too, which was the hardest part. I loved that dog so much. He was super obedient, adorable and Daisy was obsessed with him. He was so great with her. The reason we decided to sell him is because, when we go down to SLC to visit our fam and friends, there was nowhere to keep him. My mom hates having dogs over (she is on her last limb with Daisy) and there was NO way she would let Bounce in the house because of how big he was. And since we go down quite a bit, we didn't think it was worth it to put him in a puppy hotel each time we went down. So, we put him on KSL and a super nice lady in Nevada found him, instantly fell in love, and drove 6 hours to pick him up. I was not about to let him go to any home that wouldn't give him anything but love and attention and she was perfect for him. I stay in touch with her and she says he is loving life, so that gives me comfort. I miss him so much.

We got another Mini-Dachshund. He is ADORABLE!!! We named him Bentley and he is just a doll. It's so fun having a little baby puppy in the house. He has done amazing with the potty-training. He hasn't had an accident. Him and Daisy get along great and they love that they can both be in the same kennel. We found him for an amazing price on KSL and just couldn't pass up his cute face. And since Daisy desperately needed a friend, especially after Bounce was gone, it was perfect. And we are keeping him for sure since he won't get any bigger than Daisy. They are so cute together and I am so glad Daisy is happy and playful with him. He is a daddy's pup. He cries whenever Brett leaves the couch or the room and he loves to cuddle on Brett's lap. It's so cute.

We got TV. We haven't had any channels whatsoever since we have been married. The antenna we have doesn't get reception, or maybe it's busted, but we didn't have any TV. It was nice but with The Office starting up again, we decided it was time to get it. We already have Comcast Internet, and adding TV made our bill only $10 more a month, not bad at all. So, it's been great, The Office is amazing, and we are obsessed with the HGTV show House Hunters. I am bound and determined to live outside of Utah when we are done with college so we can buy an amazing house for super cheap after watching that show. Anyways, back to the subject. TV= a nice change.

We got switched from teaching Gospel Doctrine to Family & Marriage Relations. Can I say how happy I am about this fact?! I did not like teaching Gospel Doctrine. Not one bit. It was horrible for me. I felt like I was starting to get better, but it was so hard. Especially with Mr. Bible/Book of Mormon whiz up there next to me going off on all these people and stories I have never even heard of. So, needless to say, I was ECSTATIC when they switched us. I feel like this is in my arena and I can really add to this subject and hopefully be excited to teach it every other week instead of dreading it. And, it's fun stuff to talk about and people make so many more comments. I am so excited!!!

So, those are all of the changes I can think of that have happened in the last couple of weeks. Things have just been going really really good. We have been getting more social and having friends over for dinner and going out and doing stuff with other couples and it's been great. We are wanting to stay up here a lot more since we were gone practically all summer long. And, since there are a lot of new couples in our ward it's the perfect time to branch out and make more friends! Fall is here as well, and I am SO excited!!! It's been the perfect temperature outside, I have ordered a few pairs of boots and flats online to add to my fall collection, and I am so excited for all things Fall, which are: General Conference, Leaves changing color, Punkins, Carmeled Apples, Halloween, Cute Boots, Clothes & Scarves (I am in the process of looking for the perfect fall jacket) and just gorgeous weather.

Yay for fall, changes and things going great. I feel like we have worked really hard to get to where we are and I am so happy with the way things have turned out for us so far. Life is going really well, everyone is happy and healthy, Brett and I are more in love than ever and we are loving life as it comes.

DAY TWELVE....

I have decided that I am going to keep doing this, but only do the ones that I want to do. Don't get me wrong, they all sound great, but I miss blogging about what's been going on in my life!!! There has been a lot of things happening and I want to tell so I am going to try and finish this up in a week or so so I can get back to writing about what's been goin down in the Hancock Household:) But, until then:

Something you crave for a lot:

I don't think the word "crave" even touches what Diet Coke is to me. I HAVE to have this stuff. Seriously. I get Migraines if I don't have it. Not fun, but, super yummy!!! I have at least 3 cans a day, usually around 4. I have been addicted to this stuff since High School, and now that I think about it, a little bit of Middle School as well. I crave this stuff more than I crave chocolate, and for a girl, that's saying A LOT. This stuff quenches my thirst more than H20 does, pretty pathetic I know. I really do want to stop drinking it, I know it's horrible for me and the caffeine is bad and addicting. I tried going one day last week without it, and I went all day until I got home from work, then I was under my pillow with the blinds shut trying to sleep away a super bad migraine. I think i'll have to feed the addiction until I don't work 8 hours a day, because it's impossible for me to work with a migraine. So, until then, bottoms up:)

Day Eleven...

Another picture of you and your friends:

This picture is almost 5 years old (crazy that it's almost been that long since I've graduated) and I cannot find a more recent pic of the 4 of us. We have all been best friends since Junior year of High School. I have known Alli since we were 6 in the same ward and we grew up together. Katie and I were in the same Science class in 7th grade and we have been best friends ever since we met in that class. Leslie and I met in 8th grade English and became really good friends that way and we all just became close in high school after a bunch of circumstances brought us all together. We have been through a lot together and have managed to stay pretty close since after high school, from college and moving away from home, to marriage, and missions. I love these girls so much and am so grateful they are in my life.

Day Nine...

Something you’re proud of in the past few days:

Getting a GYM PASS and going to the gym!!!!

I really am so proud of myself for doing this! We got our passes at Planet Fitness (pic above) last Friday and have been 3 times since then!!! We got a great deal, it's $20 a month for the both of us and the card we got had no application or start-up fees, and it includes UNLIMITED tanning (woot woot) and other cool stuff that I can't remember. Yay for not being paste in the winter and not spending a fortune on tanning beds!! But, anyways, I am keeping up with my goal of wanting to go at LEAST 3X per week. I was even more proud of myself because, as most of you know by now, I haven't worked out in over 2 years, so going back to the gym was hard. But, not as hard as I thought. I ended up going on the Elliptical my first time back for 35 minutes and I burned 350 calories!!!! I was so proud that I could even go that long considering how I am in the worst shape ever because I eat crap! I thought I would drop dead after like 10 minutes. And the second time I went I ran half a mile and speed-walked 2! So, it seems I haven't lost all my drive and health afterall!! That was the scariest part of going back for me: seeing how bad of shape I am in! So, now that I know it's not that bad AND getting that amazing feeling you get after working out, I LOVE IT! I am going to try to get to the point where I am going 6 days a week, but that might take a bit. But this is a goal I have been wanting to achieve for the last 2 months or so, so I am SUPER proud that I am accomplishing it!!

Day Eight...

Short term goals for this month and why:

  • Go to the gym at least 3 times a week for 40 minutes

Why? Because I have a need inside me to feel healthy and get in better shape. Going to the gym and working out makes me feel amazing and helps me not want to eat junk food.

  • Read my scriptures and say my personal prayers daily.

Why? Because I need to be better at it. I am pretty good about saying my personal prayers but I have really slacked on the personal scripture study. And I know it makes THE BIGGEST difference in my day. I feel so much better and happier and my days are amazing.

  • Be a better Wife

Why? I am not saying I am a bad wife. I think I do a pretty fair job actually. But, there is one area in where I am a massive slacker: cooking and cleaning. I get home from work and the last thing I want to do is clean and cook. I have started trying to clean one room a day when I get home from work and try to cook with Brett. It's getting better but I want to get to a point where I am in the habit of coming home and before I sit down to relax, I clean and cook dinner. It's going to happen:)

  • To be more outgoing and make more friends at church

Why? I am a very outgoing person, but there is something about going to church when you are married and you just want to stick with your husband. I am not sure what it is. Maybe it's just easy to do that? And everyone else is doing it so why not right?! NOT! I want to get out there and be friends with all the amazing girls in my Ward. I have been getting better at this one as well, especially since we have made it a goal to stay in Logan more weekends instead of going down to SLC so it's been easier now that I am starting to remember everyone's names. I just want to get better at it and make a new friend every week.

Day Six...

A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

This picture is awesome. I love how it shows Brett's playful side. Anywho, this one is pretty obvious. My husband and Best friend has THE BIGGEST impact on me for sure. I have become such a better person because of this amazing boy:) I have been able to achieve so many of my personal goals for myself because of his help and patience and love. He has helped me see where I need to improve in my life not by telling me, but by his example. He really wants me to be a better person and pushes me to be without being overbearing. I know I have said this time and time again on this blog, but he really is the MOST patient person I have EVER met in my life. Seriously, I can be the biggest brat sometimes and he is so patient and loving with my mood swings and girl emotions. I would probably go crazy if I lived with me but somehow I got lucky and got someone who can put up with me and knows all my flaws, fears, quarks and crazy sides and loves me more than anything. I am amazed that I got an amazing man who fits me like a glove and is perfect for me. Brett, I love you. I am a better person because of you and I am so grateful to be yours for eternity. Thanks for helping me become the person I am today and thank you for impacting me for the better:) Eternity here we come...

Day Five

A Picture of Somewhere I've Been...

Disneyworld!!

Growing up we were very VERY blessed to have an amazing mom and dad who loved to travel and show us the world. This is the last vacation I remember taking with my dad before he died. I was 5 I think. I remember him being so patient with me and my siblings as we wanted to go on ride after ride. A few years ago my mom took my sister and I back there. I could spend an entire year there and still want to go back. This is my All-time Favorite place in the entire world. It holds some of my happiest memories. And it's true when they say it's the happiest place on earth! My dream place to live is this castle. No-joke. And yes, I realize I sound like a little 5-year old playing dress-up but I really do love this place with all my heart. It's the place where dreams come true:)
