Ok, so I am going to take a tad of a break from the 30 days of randomness and update everyone on the happenings of The Hancocks. I feel like there is just so much that has been going on that I just have to share it!!
First, with much sadness, tears and heartache we sold our sweet Bouncer. This was the hardest decision ever. We didn't want too, which was the hardest part. I loved that dog so much. He was super obedient, adorable and Daisy was obsessed with him. He was so great with her. The reason we decided to sell him is because, when we go down to SLC to visit our fam and friends, there was nowhere to keep him. My mom hates having dogs over (she is on her last limb with Daisy) and there was NO way she would let Bounce in the house because of how big he was. And since we go down quite a bit, we didn't think it was worth it to put him in a puppy hotel each time we went down. So, we put him on KSL and a super nice lady in Nevada found him, instantly fell in love, and drove 6 hours to pick him up. I was not about to let him go to any home that wouldn't give him anything but love and attention and she was perfect for him. I stay in touch with her and she says he is loving life, so that gives me comfort. I miss him so much.
We got another Mini-Dachshund. He is ADORABLE!!! We named him Bentley and he is just a doll. It's so fun having a little baby puppy in the house. He has done amazing with the potty-training. He hasn't had an accident. Him and Daisy get along great and they love that they can both be in the same kennel. We found him for an amazing price on KSL and just couldn't pass up his cute face. And since Daisy desperately needed a friend, especially after Bounce was gone, it was perfect. And we are keeping him for sure since he won't get any bigger than Daisy. They are so cute together and I am so glad Daisy is happy and playful with him. He is a daddy's pup. He cries whenever Brett leaves the couch or the room and he loves to cuddle on Brett's lap. It's so cute.
We got TV. We haven't had any channels whatsoever since we have been married. The antenna we have doesn't get reception, or maybe it's busted, but we didn't have any TV. It was nice but with The Office starting up again, we decided it was time to get it. We already have Comcast Internet, and adding TV made our bill only $10 more a month, not bad at all. So, it's been great, The Office is amazing, and we are obsessed with the HGTV show House Hunters. I am bound and determined to live outside of Utah when we are done with college so we can buy an amazing house for super cheap after watching that show. Anyways, back to the subject. TV= a nice change.
We got switched from teaching Gospel Doctrine to Family & Marriage Relations. Can I say how happy I am about this fact?! I did not like teaching Gospel Doctrine. Not one bit. It was horrible for me. I felt like I was starting to get better, but it was so hard. Especially with Mr. Bible/Book of Mormon whiz up there next to me going off on all these people and stories I have never even heard of. So, needless to say, I was ECSTATIC when they switched us. I feel like this is in my arena and I can really add to this subject and hopefully be excited to teach it every other week instead of dreading it. And, it's fun stuff to talk about and people make so many more comments. I am so excited!!!
So, those are all of the changes I can think of that have happened in the last couple of weeks. Things have just been going really really good. We have been getting more social and having friends over for dinner and going out and doing stuff with other couples and it's been great. We are wanting to stay up here a lot more since we were gone practically all summer long. And, since there are a lot of new couples in our ward it's the perfect time to branch out and make more friends! Fall is here as well, and I am SO excited!!! It's been the perfect temperature outside, I have ordered a few pairs of boots and flats online to add to my fall collection, and I am so excited for all things Fall, which are: General Conference, Leaves changing color, Punkins, Carmeled Apples, Halloween, Cute Boots, Clothes & Scarves (I am in the process of looking for the perfect fall jacket) and just gorgeous weather.
Yay for fall, changes and things going great. I feel like we have worked really hard to get to where we are and I am so happy with the way things have turned out for us so far. Life is going really well, everyone is happy and healthy, Brett and I are more in love than ever and we are loving life as it comes.
