Day Four

A Habit That I Wish I Didn't Have...

BEING LATE!!!! And, after looking on the internet trying to find a pic to go along with this horrible habit of mine, I found this little treat and now I feel really bad about it...because it's true!! I never thought of it like that but it truly is a selfish thing to do and I do it ALMOST everywhere I go. I am always a couple of minutes late to work and I hate it. That is where I get bugged the most, because it makes me look bad and I am doing it to myself. I AM GOING TO STOP THIS HABIT! It's selfish and rude. I want to be professional and let people know that their time is just as valuable if not more-so than mine is. It's stopping Today!!

DAY THREE

A Picture of Me and a Friend...

I have a TON of pics with me and my friends....it was hard to narrow it down. I decided to put up a pic of me and my oldest friend in the book......Whiters! I have been Best Friends with this girl since she was born. Literally. She is my little sister pretty much and I love her to death. We don't see each other nearly as much as we used too, but things are always the same when we see each other. Love you Olgs!!

DAY TWO

The meaning behind my blog name...

Well, it's really simple actually. My last name is Hancock, and my husbands last name is Hancock. Therefore, you have The Hancocks. Voila! Whew, that was easy:)

DAY ONE

A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself

This is the most recent picture I have of myself where I am by myself, well, sort of. Not the best pic but what can you do:) Okay, now onto the 15 interesting facts:

1. I am actually really excited to go back to school and get my degree. NEVER EVER thought I would feel that way because I have always hated school, but, after just working for a year and a half, I am ready to go back and get educated. I guess that shows I am maturing somewhat:) That will be happening next fall.

2. I am the lightest sleeper ever. Seriously. I wake up literally every time Brett moves or when I hear a creak in the house. It's good and bad at the same time. I love being alert, but I hate being woken up every half hour. Brett on the other hand is the total opposite. He could sleep through a tornado.

3. I have been the same size/weight since I was a Senior in High School. I lost 10 stress lbs. before my wedding but that slowly drifted back. Now I am back to where I was in high school, which doesn't bother me. I just hope it stays that way:)

4. I love picking off my nail polish. I paint my nails, and as soon as one of them gets a little bit of nail-polish scraped off or chipped off, I go at it and tear off all the nail polish on each nail. I can't stop until each nail is naked. It drives Brett insane.

5. I have probably seen every episode of every season of The Hills at least 10 times. Obsessed doesn't touch how much I love that show. Don't judge;)

6. I am starting to get into crafting...something I NEVER thought I would ever do. It's a good hobby and hopefully I will get some cute stuff out of doing it.

7. I have only kissed 2 people in my entire life. I have rejected quite a few people (not to sound weird or anything) because I think kisses should mean something.

8. I have never broken a bone or had stitches or had to go to the emergency room. I am scared for the day when one of those happens.

9. I have implants. Two teeth implants I mean. They are the two teeth that surround my two front teeth. It was hereditary from my sweet mother. It's super annoying because I can't bite into an apple or anything hard straight with my front teeth, and I am always paranoid that they are going to get knocked out or something. But, nobody can tell so its great.

10. My favorite feeling is when I put on a new pair of socks! Ohhhhh man. I am going to go put some on right now.....it's THAT good!

11. The first time Brett kissed me we were watching Pearl Harbor at like 11:30pm and he put me in a headlock while the credits were going at the end (we were playing around) with the Faith Hill song "There You'll Be" playing and he kissed me. Super funny but way romantic. It was perfect. We ended up having a make-out session for a while (haha TMI). And, it was only the second time we had hung out. I had only known him for like 2 weeks. Definitely not my usual way of doing things before I met him, but, it obviously was fun and it obviously paid off:)

12. I am obsessed with singing. I love going on drives by myself, blasting me some Britney Spears or Taylor Swift and belting it out. I also love singing in the shower. I seriously rock out. I love singing anytime, anywhere. Brett always asks me to sing him solo's and maybe someday I will, but for now I am too shy. He has to stick with listening to me belt out "Baby One More Time" in the shower I guess.

13. When I am stressed, the ultimate cure for me is to go shopping and blow some $$. I don't know why that helps take all my cares away, but it does. I don't do it nearly as much now as I did when I was single because I am poor, but the occasional shopping trip is made here and there when my stress gets to be too much.

14. I love big Sunglasses. Brett thinks I look like a bug, but I don't care. I HEART them.

15. I never take off my make-up before i go to bed; not because I am insecure, but because I never have and it's never affected my skin. I am too lazy too to be honest. The only time my make-up comes off is when I shower or when I work-out (I don't even know what that feels like anymore, that is going to change.)

30 Days of Me...

Sooo Long Sweet Summer....:(

Summer is coming to a close. I am so sad about that fact. Seriously. I do not know why I live in flipping Utah, and I especially do not know why I am up in the coldest part of Utah when I absolutely HATE the cold and snow. It really truly is my worst enemy. I swear on everything I am allowed to that I will one day live somewhere where it is warm ALL year round! That is my dream. I have had it with the gross snow and barf weather for nine months out of the year. Sorry, little venting going on there. Moving on...
So not a whole lot has been going on since we got back from Chicago. We have been trying to get back into the groove of our regular routine of working and not being on sweet vacations.
Brett started school and like everyone else, he was not excited about it. He is taking 16 credits and having to work at least 30 hours a week so it's going to be a tough semester. I am so happy that I am not in school, but I know the clock is ticking to the time that I will have to go back once Brett is done, which is going to be next Summer. So I am loving every precious minute of not being in school and just working everyday. Speaking of working, I am absolutely LOVING my new job. I love the girls I work with, and heart my boss. He is so great. I love the hours, love the pay and do not mind the work one little bit. And, thanks to one of my friends there, we are now paying $50 less each month on car insurance. And, as of October 1st we will be paying $75 less on Health Insurance each month since I am going to be fully covered at my job for free:) Saving money in any way is a blessing so it's been so great. I love coming home everyday and not feeling super stressed and not venting to Brett for an hour each night about how much I hate my job and my boss. I really feel like I am in heaven with this new job and it's amazing. And I am sure Brett loves not having to hear my complaining every night of the work-week:)
Also, today is Labor Day and it was GORGEOUS weather, so Brett and I decided to go on a So-Long-Summer picnic with the pups. It was so nice. We picked up some Subway and some treats and I brought along my newest Nicholas Sparks novel "At First Sight" and started reading it while Brett listened to his book on his MP3 player and the pups just played and chilled. We were there for 4 hours and loved every second of soaking up the sun and just being with each other without the TV and Laptops. We also took some family photos since we don't have any recent ones with Bouncer in them. They turned out super duper cute. See below.
Well, that is about it for now. Not much is new. We have set a new goal and that is to go to the gym. We have not been to the gym, either of us, since a year before we were married! That is 2 1/2 years! Insane!!! I am just lucky and shocked that I am not a massive balloon by now, especially with how we eat. Brett on the other hand, he could eat 20 cheeseburgers a day and still not gain weight so he has nothing to worry about. Brett wants to bulk up and I just want to tone a little bit and get in better shape. I used to love working out, I would do it everyday for an hour and I miss feeling so great and not craving junk food. So hopefully by the time I post next I am in the habit of working out 3 times a week. We are going to get our gym passes this week so we shall see:) So anywho, enjoy the pics and, yes, our pups are as cute as they seem in the pics:)

The Latest told in Photos

So we have been so freaking busy the last few weeks! It's been crazy slash fun. But, I will admit, it's nice to be home and have things slow down for us for a while because within the last month I quit my job and started a new one, went on a spur of the moment road-trip to California and then the week after that we spent a week with my family in CHICAGO! It was one of those vacations that didn't feel like a vacation; no relaxation, just a pure packed schedule everyday for a week. It was exhausting but oh my gosh was it FUN! We saw SO much! And of course, with my family, it's always full of non-stop laughs and good times. Then we had Brett's sister's wedding a few days after we got home. Busy Busy Busy! So, here is just a photo collage of some of the things we were able to do in Chicago. My camera's battery died halfway through the trip and we kept forgetting to charge it so until I get the rest of the pics from Cami, Steve & my Madre, this is only a glimpse of what we did:

And here's a few of Brett's sister's wedding! It was such an amazing ceremony!

Then, later that night at 10:30 we FINALLY picked up this little guy:

Isn't he such a sweetheart?! Oh my gosh he is so dang cute. He is really big and strong though. Him and Daisy can't really play/wrestle a whole ton because he is literally all muscle and she is a baby and a wimp. But, they tease each other over toys and they get along great. He is on a trial period right now to make sure they stay calm with each other because the whole point of getting him was to have a friend for Daisy. Hopefully all goes well because I don't know how I could give up that sweet little face if it didn't. He is such a cuddle pup though and is OBSESSED with Brett. Seriously. He follows Brett around everywhere and always gets up on the couch to either cuddle with Brett or give him kisses or both. It's hilarious and so cute. Here are a few more pics of Bouncy Bounce. Hopefully he's a keeper.

California + A New Addition to our Family....

California was a B to the Last!!! It couldn't have gone better except for the fact that, as we were taking pics around the Oakland Temple grounds, Brett slipped and fell and ended up with 3 chipped teeth, a bruised hip, chin and nose, scrapes all over his face and a horrible cut on his lip that bled for 13 hours after the incident. But, in true Brett fashion, he took it like a champ and didn't complain. He is amazing. I, on the other hand, would have been bawling my eyes out. He was so great and "manly." Besides that, we went all around San Fran, Six Flags for a day, got some free dental work done thanks to Brett's Uncle Kevin, had the most amazing Sushi ever and at the cheapest prices, and 30 hours of car ride together sharing stories, going down memory lane, listening to some very good talks on tape, and belting out our favorite tunes from the good old days (thank you Backstreet Boys and N*Sync). It was SO much fun. So, now that you know the background behind these pics, I will just post them and then continue down below:

Okay, so in the second half of the title to this post it states: A New Addition to our Family. No, I am not pregnant. That will not be happening for a couple of years at least (unless Heavenly Father has something else planned that we don't). Everyone, I would like to now introduce the future member of our family. He is a mix between an English Bulldog and a French Bulldog. Meet Bouncer!!

Isnt' he absolutely ADORABLE?!

Oh he is just so fat and cute. I have wanted a Bulldog for a while now and it just so happens that our pup Daisy needs a friend pretty badly since Brett and I are too boring for her;) No, she just needs another pup in the house to play and wrestle with. And, since I have wanted a Bulldog for so long, and since this one was on KSL for an extremely amazing price and was the perfect description for a pal for Daisy (16 months old, playful, fun, energetic, loves to cuddle, potty-trained) we just couldn't refuse!! He is currently in Vernal and we put a deposit down on him so we should be getting him no later than 2 weeks from now (we are going to Chicago next week so I don't want to get him until after so we can bond with him) and I just cannot wait for him to come home with us! I cannot wait to cuddle with him and see how him and Daisy interact. It will be interesting but so fun. Bouncer, we already love you so much and cannot wait to have you as part of our family.

BUSY Busy busy.....

So it's been a couple of weeks since I have written a post. Things have been quite busy around the Hancock Household. Here are the biggest highlights of what has occured or is occuring:

I have job hunting since the start of April. I loved my job at the Chiropractic office. I loved the two girls I worked with; they became two of my closest friends. But I absolutely HATED my boss. I cannot explain how much I hated going to work everyday, not because of the work I was doing, but because he was going to be there. I have never met a person who is so prideful, self-righteous and just plain rude. He did every little manipulative thing to make my life miserable. But, I am not going to waste my time writing about this man. I just wanted to say why I was looking for a different job. And I looked, and I looked, and I looked. I applied to at least 40 different job postings that I would look at everyday and I only heard back from a handful. I cannot believe how bad the job market is right now, especially in Logan. Then, by chance, I looked at a job website that I hardly ever looked at but decided too last Monday and saw a position for a Receptionist at a Insurance Company and it came with better pay, closer to our house, & BENEFITS. It sounded like the dream job since we are paying up the butt for insurance right now. I have had plenty of experience as a receptionist so I decided to apply. I got a called that same day and they asked me to come in for an interview Tuesday. I did and I felt SO good not only about the interview, but about the job position itself as well as the Office Manager I interviewed with. I got a call back for a 2nd interview Wednesday, went to it, felt even better about it and then went home and got called an hour after I was home saying that I was picked for the position. I was SO relieved and so excited. During these two days, I had strep throat and felt absolutely HORRIBLE! But, I bucked up for those 2 interviews and obviously it paid off. But since I had strep throat, I wasn't at work for Wednesday or the first 1/2 of Thursday. So once I found out on Wednesday about my new job, I decided to stick out the afternoon on Thursday so I could give my boss my 2 weeks notice. So I went and told my boss as soon as I got to work, and him being the loser that he is, he was ticked that I was quitting and he just let me go that same day. WHAT A JERK. But, it actually turned out great because now......
Brett and I are going to California so Brett can have some dental work done for free (thanks to his amazing uncle who is a dentist) and so we can play for a few days in the sun and just get away. We are going to San Franciso!!!!!! I cannot wait. We have needed a little getaway from life and this is the perfect time, especially since I have no job to worry about until my start date of August 3rd. So it will be fun to play at the Beach, see the Golden Gate Bridge, go to China town, walk around the city and just be together. We are driving though, so we will definitely need to go and get some good books on tape. Also, these last couple of weekends we have been down in Salt Lake with our families chilling and hanging out. We had a homemade sushi night to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday a week ago (YUM! Delicious!) And just yesterday we played at my mom's and had a picnic from Zupas, played water volleyball in my mom's pool, and had a campout in the backyard and played games. I cannot express how blessed I feel to have such an amazing mom who does so much for us kids. She is absolutely incredible. I am so grateful we live close enough that we can all go over to her house and just hang out together and have fun. I have the best family in the world!!! So anywho, it was a blast couple of weekends with them.
Life really is so great. Especially right now. Things have really fallen into place for us and I am just so grateful that I got this new job that will help our finances and help me not to go crazy like my other boss did. I am really excited for it and cannot wait to get started. So, the next time I blog we will be back from Cali, I am sure that post will have dozens of pics. But for now, here is a few from the last week......
Daisy pup showing off her latest favorite dress:)

1/2 of the best family ever

And there's the other 1/2:)
