my top 10 favorite Christmas songs...

i know i am not alone when i say that i LOVE Christmas music!! i am just not one of those people who listens to it right after Halloween ends. but now that Thanksgiving is over, it's officially time for Christmas music to start sounding throughout my house, my car and my head! and in honor of Christmas music time, i wanted to blog about my favorite Christmas songs. and not just the songs, but the artist as well, because let's face it, you have to have a good singer who actually has talented singing the songs, not Hilary Duff singing them. the artist makes all the difference peeps.

1. Josh Grobans "Oh Holy Night" i could literally listen to this song all day, everyday. this is my favorite Christmas song of all time. it's gorgeous, the message is beautiful, and with Josh singing it, i get goosebumps everytime. amazing..

2. Mariah Carey's "All i Want for Christmas is You" love this song. it's got fabulous lyrics, a great singer, and it's super upbeat and fun. classic.

3. Amy Grant's "Tennessee Christmas" this is an oldie but oh, a goodie. it reminds me of when i was really little and my dad would play his Amy Grant Christmas album and we would listen to it as we decorated the house for Christmas. this song reminds me of him at Christmas. love.

4. Amy Grant's "Breath of Heaven" this song is beautiful. there are no other words to describe it. i have heard other versions of this song and they sucked (Jessica Simpson, you really need to stick with your own little pop world, leave this one to the pro's). i love the perspective this song gives..from Mary's perspective. sucks me in everytime i tell ya.

5. Celine Dion's "Oh Holy Night" yep, this song gets on the list twice. it deserves to, it's the best! and Celine...you really can't go wrong with anything Celine can you?

6. Amy Grant's "The Night Before Christmas" love this song. it has such a classy feel to it. and again, it reminds me of when i was little and my dad.

7. Amy Grant's "Grown-up Christmas List" yes, you can tell i am obsessed with Amy Grant at Christmas time. this song is yet another fabulous one from her. basically her whole Christmas album is amazing.

8. John Schmidt "Christmas Medley" this is a piano version of What Child is This? We Three Kings and Carol of the Bells all mixed together in one song. i LOVE John Schmidt. i love piano music, and Christmas piano music is just gorgeous.

9. Faith Hill "Where are you Christmas" love this movie, love this song. win win.

10. Trans Siberian Orchestra's "Carol of the Bells" amazing!

there you have it! if you haven't listened to any of these songs, i suggest you go to youtube right now and do so...you are missing out!
