Over the last few weeks, we have made it a point to go on a picnic at least 3 or 4 times a week, to soak up all the warmth that's left in the year. It's been fabulous and a nice little routine that I look forward to throughout the week. We get Subway (share a footlong) then go to the drive-thru gas station next to Subway and get drinks and a peanut butter Twix to share, and drive up to First Dam (for those of you who don't know Logan, it's right at the mouth of Logan Canyon) where they have this cute little park and a dam (obviously) and it's full of ducks, geese and a gorgeous setting. We take a blanket, a book to read together, bread to feed the ducks and Dylan (he's the funnest part). Yesterday was the first time we fed the ducks and it was so fun. Dylan looked like he had A.D.D. because there were so many ducks/geese and he couldn't keep track of them all. He really loves being outside, just like his dad.
I hope that we get at least a few more of these picnics in before the cold comes...they are such a great time for Brett and I to talk and laugh and get out of the house. We really love this new little tradition and want to soak it up as much as we can, since next Summer Brett will most likely be in the Master's program and working. We will never again have a Summer like we have had this year. It's been really amazing being able to be together almost 24/7 and getting to know our sweet little baby. We have been so extremely blessed. Time just needs to stop...
