Mom's Birthday and Dylan's Blessing

So my mom's birthday was in July, and for her present this year (since she has everything she wants pretty much), we decided to do a girl's day (with Dylan of course). We made her breakfast Saturday morning, then we went up to Sundance for the afternoon. I have never been there, but there was a festival up there and a bunch of vendors were up selling their homemade crafts and such. It was so great! And HOT! Wow! It felt like mid-July!

And not to mention it was gorgeous!! The leaves were just starting to change and it could not have been more beautiful.

We brought a picnic lunch and ate up in the mountains and reminisced about the good old days when Cami and I were in High School. It was a good time. Then it was time to get back for the Relief Society Meeting. Dylan and Cami decided to take a nap on the way home...

No idea how she slept like that...but aren't Dylan's cheeks to die for?! Love!

The Relief Society Meeting was awesome! Elder Uchtdorf's talk "Forget Me Not" was perfect, exactly what I needed to hear. Afterwards, we met up with the boys and went to a Thai Restaurant (definitely not my choice, it was still my mom's birthday day so  she picked to go there) and oh.my.gosh. It was seriously the sickest food I have ever eaten in my entire life. Brett and I were seriously gagging. NEVER will you catch me in a Thai restaurant again. BARF!
The rest of the night was filled with the boys playing games, the girls laughing hysterically, watching Little Women, pedicures and manicures, and shopping for an outfit for Dylan's blessing. We found one at Smiths Marketplace. Random.

Then Sunday finally came...Dylan's Blessing Day!! I have been waiting forever for this day to come and we were so excited all morning for it. Church wasn't until 1 (we did it at my mom's ward since all our family is in SLC) and we cooked all morning. On the menu: Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Chips & Salsa, Jello, Bacon Spinach Salad, Watermelon and cookies. Yum! Then it was time to get ready, get Dylan ready and get to church. Dylan, of course, was the most onry he has ever been at church that day. He only took a half hour nap when he usually takes a two hour one, so he was not a happy camper. Right when we sat down and church started, he was screaming and crying because he was so tired. I took him out in the hall, prayed over and over again that he would calm down so he would be calm for his blessing. I kid you not, 1 minute before his blessing, he just calmed down for no reason. He didn't fall asleep, I didn't feed him, he just stopped crying. That never happens. Ever. He either needs food or sleep to calm him down in times like that. It was truly a huge testimony builder to me, seeing my prayers being answered right before my eyes. Then I took him back in as they announced it was time for his blessing, Brett took him up with everyone he invited to stand in the circle, and Dylan was calm the entire blessing. Brett did an AMAZING job, and said everything I hoped he would. I was so proud of both of my boys.

Then we went to my mom's and everyone ate and we chatted with all our friends and family. I wish I would've taken more pictures of people and the food, but I was just so busy talking to people that I didn't take any until most everyone had gone home. We got some with Dylan's grandmas, and us as well.

See the matching ties?!?! SO adorable. We found them at Macey's Grocery Store randomly a few months ago. So cute!! What a great weekend it was! It was full of fun, laughs and making memories. We did so much, and it flew by!

We love you Dylan, thank you for being such a sweetheart and for bringing such a strong spirit into our home and for being such an amazing baby. We love you more than we could ever express. You are our world.
